Welcome to Piter White Knights!

This being my first entry as the owner of the blog, I just thought that I would say a few words about Saint Petersburg the city before the discussion turns to more business related topics.

I first came to Petersburg in 1996, and was seduced by the "Venice of the North" with it's endless canals and unique architecture. Wandering down the wide boulevards you can see the proud heritage of a city that has shaped Russian history for centuries. Poets, revolutionaries, visionaries and proud warriors have wandered along Nevsky Prospekt in awe of the might of their great country, yearning to play a part in shaping it's destiny.

The innate drive of the current Russian nation to become great again is reflecting in the return to glory of St Petersburg, the most magnificent of cities. This is not just about government decisions to move various businesses to the city, nor is it about Zenit winning the league.... :) It is about normal people taking the opportunities to progress in life - be that moral or intellectual progress - in their private or professional lives.

This blog is about people discussing the real issues that are getting in the way of making progress in their professional lives, and therefore hindering the growth of Saint Petersburg itself. It is equally about members helping each other find solutions in the ultimate "pay it forward" sense. Life is all about positive karma at the end of the day - let's spread a bit more.....

Lastly, an explanation into the name of this blog:
Piter - nickname for Saint Petersburg
White Knights - pun on the "white nights" which occour in the summer, but also in the business context where "white knights" help buy out businesses in trouble.
